Homes

The bulk of the population live in the active adult community, Greenbriar Oceanaire, which has ~ 1400 homes. However, new construction is no longer available.The homes are upscale, with either 2 or 3 bedrooms and a 2 car garage, Furthermore, some homes have basements and/or a loft. The large active clubhouse offers indoor and outdoor pools, a gym, a restaurant, many clubs and activities. Greenbriar Oceanaire is a golfing community, with a championship 18 course. However, this course is open to residents and their guests only.

Dining and Shopping

Locally there is shopping with upscale stores, with additional shopping and dining located on Long Beach Island. Ocean County Mall is in nearby Toms River. Additionally, there are many great seafood restaurants located along Route 9.

Recreation & Entertainment

Waretown is only minutes from the Atlantic Ocean at Long Beach Island. It’s 40 minutes from Atlantic City, and less than 2 hours to NYC. In addition, marinas are available for the boating enthusiasts.

Commute

Waretown, a section of Ocean Township, has a great location because it’s located at Garden State Parkway exit 69. Ocean Ride provides bus transportation within Ocean County. 12 bus routes connecting key residential areas with popular destinations such as shopping, employment and social services.  Additionally, connections to other means of transportation. Furthermore, New Jersey Transit provides bus service along Route 9.

Medical Care

The closest hospitals are Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin and Community Hospital in Toms River. Ocean Ride provides door-to-door, non-emergency medical transportation service to seniors (age 60 and over).
