HOW DOES A GATED COMMUNITY WORK?
When you purchase a home in a gated community, you have control over who is allowed to come through the gate. People are not allowed to just drive through to take a look. Only residents and authorized people are allowed in.
As the resident, you’ll receive a remote which will open the gate(s). Keep this in your car or carry it, your choice. Additionally, some cars have remotes built in that you can program and use to open the gate.
If you have a frequent visitor who you want to be able to come and go as necessary, get them a remote. This may be good for a relative.
Also, when you have a frequent visitor, but you don’t want them to have a remote, you can notify the guardhouse that this is a permanently allowed visitor. All the visitor needs to do is stop at the gate and give their name.
As an example, you have a contractor, such as a painter who will be making frequent trips. You can tell the guardhouse that person is allowed to enter between certain dates.
And, if you have a one-time visitor coming, just call the guard house and give their name and permission to enter.
