Whiting Station is a 55+ Active Adult Over 55 Community located in Manchester, Ocean County. Despite the fact that it seems to be off the beaten path, nearby are stores, restaurants, entertainment, and medical services. In fact, due to low taxes and reasonable association fees, this community is what today’s active adult home buyers look for. The association shovels snow and cuts the grass. As a result, you won’t have to. Additionally, your pets are welcome here.

The Homes

Construction started in Whiting Station in 1988, and was completed by 1995. There are 330 Homes and 8 different models in Whiting Station. In fact, most lots are heavily treed.. The typical home has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and either a 1 or 2 car garage. Homes  generally sell between $100,000 – $200,000. Originally, the homes were heated by oil, however, many homes have since converted to natural gas.

The Clubhouse

Ocean Ride, Ocean County’s transit system, provides bus transportation throughout Ocean County. The Reserve-A-Ride Program  provides non-emergency medical transportation service to seniors. A small fee is paid, however, advance reservations are necessary. In addition, Ocean Ride has 12 local bus routes to shopping, other adult communities and more.
